The sweet talk wasn’t enough

Jamaica has been part of the British colony since 1655, but this old colonial country has come along since the 17th century. With a growing economy – with large amounts of agricultural and tourism income towards its economy and ranked 12th out of 29 countries in the South and Central America/Caribbean region, freedom from the British monarchy is wanted.

The new Prime Minister, Portia Simpson Miller, is promising her voters that freedom from this old monarchy is soon to be delivered. This announcement is just weeks after Prince Harry was going to travel out there in March this year. But this visit agreement maybe not be enough to keep this old colony part of the British commonwealth.

This news is not only a crazy decision on an economic scale, but a social scale with many British tourists travelling to the island every year, a large financial source the Jamaican economy depends on! But the Jamaican economy is growing, there is no economic problem with their republic plans? But they still depend on British tourists and the guidance of the British government, which would deliver economic and social guidance to allow it to develop.

Leaving the monarch would be devastating, their economy could not survive and compete on a global scale. This would decrease and economic growth, lower living standards and send the Caribbean island into depression. Staying with the monarch but being given more freedom is the right option.
